The Cobra ESD 7000 Laser and Radar Detector is a basic yet competent Cobra Radar Detector. It covers laser speed-monitoring systems, as well as K-Band, Ka-Band, Ka-Superwide Band and X-Band. It also sports VG-2 Alert for the newer Radar Detector Detectors (RDD) that allow the police to tell if there is a Radar Detector in a target vehicle.

In addition, the Cobra 7000 Laser and Radar Detector is effective against the Spectre 1 detector and Laser 360. Bright icons on the face of the unit show the type of radar being detected. The Cobra ESD 7000 can quickly be switched between City Mode and Highway Mode to prevent false alarms, and an easy-access mute can be engaged to quiet the unit even if a radar system has been detected.
